Greeting Card Do-Over

A while back, I did an assignment where I did a greeting card from New York City- you may remember it:

Now don’t get me wrong, I was pretty proud of this. However, there are still things I wanted to be different about it. Mainly, I didn’t like that you could barely see the words New York City. I struggled with it for a while and deemed it as fine, so when we got the chance to re-do an assignment I immediately thought of this one. Also, redoing something on canva just means more time to play on canva, so count me in.

At first, I was so attached to that particular photo that I settled for not being able to see the text as well, but now going back I really don’t have that same attachment and was able to pick a better photo for text to be much more easily seen. I still kept the font the same, but got rid of the unnecessary block/line thing, because that was only there to try to draw the reader’s eye to the words “New York City”.

I ended up with this photo:

You’re able to see the text MUCH more clearly, it still has a nice pop of color, and uses the font I love. I got to play a little bit more with letter spacing and I really like how it turned out. I also think that overall, this picture of NYC is just better than the last, even though at the time I really loved that photo. This photo is also giving me Girl’s Guide Promo vibes because of the colors lol.

I’m pretty happy with how this turned out and I can’t wait to see what everyone else has done so far!

  1. you can see the text sooooo much better now. I did really like the first picture though, maybe an alternate if you really liked the picture too wouldve been to put a solid shape behind the text?
